Collaborative Internet Projects are interdisciplinary collaborative online projects that taps into students’ out of school use of social networking tools, the use of these tools to achieve the goal of developing academic skills, digital literacy skills, and skills needed for the 21st century.

Students take part in a learning community where each individual’s opinions, thoughts and contributions are valued while working towards the good of the greater whole. Participation in these projects helps students appreciate a sense of others, gain perspective and point of view and serve purposes beyond self interest. Students develop their own voices through discussions and collaborative writing about real issues and literature.
